Drive Shaft
Universal-joint shafts that carry the PTO output across to the pump.
From the PTO to the Pump
The PTO and the pump it drives are rarely bolted face to face. A drive shaft with universal joints at each end carries the drive across the gap and tolerates the angle and the movement between them.
The shaft is the part that takes the shock when a load lands, so it is matched to the torque the PTO puts out rather than cut to length and hoped for. Send us the PTO and the pump and the distance between them.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do you need to make one?
The PTO, the pump it drives and the distance between their flanges — and the angle between them if the two are not in line.
Why does the angle matter?
A universal joint does not turn at a constant speed through a large angle. The bigger the angle, the rougher the drive and the harder the life of the joint, so keeping it small is part of laying the installation out.
Can a shaft be shortened later?
Shortening changes the balance and the length of the splined section, so it is work for a shop that can rebalance it afterwards. Send us the distance and it is made to that in the first place.
