PTO Control Kits
Air, cable or electric — the three ways to shift a PTO into gear from the cab.
Three Ways to Engage a PTO
A PTO has to be shifted into gear before it drives anything, and how the driver does that is the choice here: compressed air, a mechanical cable, or an electric switch.
What suits a truck usually comes down to what it already carries. A truck running air brakes or a vacuum system can work the PTO off that air; one with neither to spare takes the cable kit or the electrical kit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which kit does my truck take?
Start with the air. A truck with a vacuum system takes the vacuum air kit; a truck on air brakes takes the pressure kit. With neither to spare, the cable kit is mechanical end to end and the electrical kit works off a switch. Tell us the truck and we will say which.
Can a cable kit go on any truck?
It needs a run from the cab to the shift arm on the PTO that a cable can take without tight bends. On most trucks that is straightforward — tell us the truck and where you want the lever to sit.
What do you need to quote one?
The truck, the gearbox and the PTO fitted to it, and whether the truck runs air brakes, a vacuum system or neither.
